Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about ordering, artwork, production, DTF, pickup, and delivery.

What is The Corner Print Studio?

It is Youth Design Center’s community-rooted print and fabrication social enterprise operating at The Corner by YDC in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Revenue supports the organization’s creative programs and facility.

When does turnaround begin?

After payment, usable artwork, and final proof approval. Printing orders may show same-day or next-business-day pickup when production capacity is open. Keep the calendar date you need; full dates are rejected and availability is checked again at checkout.

When will DTF or UV DTF be ready?

DTF and UV DTF production begins after the production team reviews and accepts the artwork. The earliest calendar date is two business days out; capacity may move the order to the third business day or later.

Do you offer same-day printing?

Not automatically. Contact staff before ordering if you have a rush request. Availability depends on file readiness, materials, equipment, current workload, and the requested product.

Which files can I upload?

PNG, JPG, WEBP, SVG, PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, TIFF, STL, OBJ, and 3MF files up to 25 MB are supported where relevant. Transparent PNG or production-ready PDF is preferred for most print work.

What resolution should artwork be?

Use 300 DPI at the final printed size whenever possible. The DTF builder shows effective DPI after you choose each design’s size.

How does background removal work?

Background removal is optional. The original file is preserved. For DTF gang sheets, spacing can use the visible artwork boundary after removal or the original artwork canvas, and each design can be adjusted independently.

How are DTF gang sheets sized?

The builder uses the xTool Apparel Printer’s 14 × 18-inch printable area, with no added outer margin. You choose the space between designs, rotate artwork in 90-degree increments, and the system selects the smallest bundle combination that fits.

Do I have to order DTF or UV DTF as a gang sheet?

No. Individual DTF is calculated from finished size, quantity, and standard or metallic finish, with automatic bulk discounts. Individual UV DTF is staff-priced after the surface and application request are reviewed. Fixed-price gang-sheet builders remain available for DTF and for 12 × 22 UV DTF sheets.

Can customers download production gang sheets?

No. Customers review the visual proof, while the print-ready gang-sheet PDF remains available to authorized production staff.

Will printed colors exactly match my screen?

Not necessarily. Screens emit light while printers use ink on physical material. Substrate, garment color, finish, calibration, and monitor settings can create reasonable variation. Ask about a physical sample for color-critical work.

Which garments can YDC print?

The DTF Apparel section includes T-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, tanks, polos, crewneck sweatshirts, pullover and zip-up hoodies, sweatpants or joggers, athletic shorts, tote bags, and aprons. You can choose a YDC-supplied blank or bring your own suitable item.

Can I order the same design in several garment sizes?

Yes. Enter the quantity needed for each youth or adult size in one apparel order. The site totals all sizes for pricing, and the exact size breakdown stays attached to the proof for production.

Can I bring my own shirt or garment?

Yes. Choose I’ll Bring My Own in the DTF Apparel section. One-location pricing is $10 each for 1–5 garments, $9 each for 6–11, $8 each for 12–24, $7 each for 25–49, and $6 each for 50 or more. Each additional print location is $2 per garment. Customer-supplied items must be dropped off before production and pass staff inspection for fabric, condition, coatings, seams, and heat sensitivity.

How does NYC delivery work?

$50 covers one address anywhere in the five boroughs, and NYC delivery is included on product orders of $300 or more. We aim for the next available business-day route after production when capacity permits; it is not a same-day or exact-hour promise. Read the delivery and shipping policy.

Do you ship outside New York City?

Yes. Enter a destination in one of the 50 states to compare available standard USPS, UPS, and FedEx rates. Pricing uses the estimated package size and weight plus destination. Transit begins after production, and tracking is provided after shipment. Read the delivery and shipping policy.

Can I pick up for free?

Yes. Pickup at 112 New Lots Avenue is free after you receive confirmation that the order is ready.

Can I save a proof and come back later?

Yes. Every checkout is saved to your private cart before Stripe opens. Your artwork and proof settings remain available from the Cart link on this device or from the private return link, so leaving Stripe does not force you to rebuild the job.

Can I order more than one product at a time?

Yes. Add each approved print job to the same cart, choose Add another product, and pay for all instantly priced items in one Stripe checkout. Each job still receives its own production status after payment.

What happens if I leave Stripe without paying?

Your cart remains saved and no charge is made. Open Cart, then choose Return to Secure Checkout to continue or Edit Cart Before Paying to change the order and create a fresh checkout.

Can vinyl banners use a custom size?

Yes. Choose Custom Size and enter the finished width and height. The shorter side must be 44 inches or less and the longer side must be 708 inches (59 feet) or less so the job fits the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4600 roll workflow.

Will I receive a confirmation or receipt?

Yes. Stripe sends the payment receipt to the checkout email, and the private cart or order-status link confirms what was submitted. When customer messaging is enabled, The Corner also sends order and return reminders through its customer system.

Can I use the same account as The Corner’s Nexudus portal?

Yes. Select the customer-account option during checkout. We match your email to an existing Nexudus customer or create a portal-enabled account and let Nexudus send the welcome email. Guest checkout remains available. Google or Apple sign-in through Nexudus is separate from this email-based account match.

Can the Corner Guide connect me with a person?

Yes. The guide first answers from current shop policies and calculators. If it cannot confirm the answer, try the guided order tool and confirm that you still need help. Your question and estimate context are then sent to the production team in Slack. Staff can reply from Slack, and the answer appears in your site chat on the same browser.

What happens if there is a problem with my order?

Report it within three business days with your order number and photographs. Verified production errors or delivery damage may qualify for a reprint, replacement, credit, repair, or refund under the returns and reprints policy.

Do you provide design or file-repair services?

The online proof helps with placement and basic preparation, but substantial design, typesetting, vectorization, color matching, file reconstruction, or fabrication planning may require a separate quote.

What does a fabrication quote include?

Laser cutting and 3D printing are reviewed for material, machine time, setup, safety, finishing, and file readiness before a price and schedule are confirmed.
